October 27th was not what you would say the perfect Maltese weather. It started raining late morning, and when I looked up there was no patch of blue sky to give me hope for sunshine. I arrived at Villa Bologna around 11:30am. I was wearing my favourite yellow anorak, with the hope that the colour would lift up my couple’s mood. Upon my arrival though, I found Anne Marie and Morgan happy to see me and not so upset about the rain!
Prior to the ceremony we ventured around the gardens in the hope of finding a dry place. But then suddenly the rain stopped when we set up the table for the registrar. If I did not believe in miracles before, then this was proof that they are possible.
It was an intense and intimate moment witnessing Anne Marie and Morgan say ‘I do’ with their boys watching on. Their witnesses, the lovely Rachel and her husband were also present. We were all in suspense, keeping our breaths in and smiling with this indescribable joy within us.
After the vows were sealed, it was prosecco time. Later we took a stroll around the beautiful gardens of Villa Bologna to shoot some ‘romantic’ photos. I walked to my car slowly, happy to have witnessed such a beautiful union were two families became one.
