Elaine & Roann

This was the most emotional wedding of 2019 for me. Not that the others did not hit me emotionally, but I cried with flowing real tears at Elaine’s and Roann’s wonderful day. The excitement levels were high when I arrived at Elaine’s hotel room. And by the time I left, I was already on cloud 9! When I got to Roann’s the excitement was beginning to get teary with her sister crying when they embraced.

Roann got to Villa Arrigo first and was walked up the aisle accompanied by her father. Next in line Elaine arrived in a vintage bus together with her entourage. Before walking up the aisle, her daughter was so nervous that she needed to hug her mother, Elaine, a number of times before she could compose herself and start walking.

It is just amazing to witness two people who are ready to commit to one another and to their children. I couldn’t contain my tears any longer though, especially when Roann started reading her vows. Out of the two, Elaine is the chatty one and Roann is the pensive one. But her speech was far from subdued; the love was flowing through the words straight to Elaine’s heart and I could not stop crying; even when Elaine read her vows, there really was no stopping me. When I got up for some air, I realised that everyone was crying; such was the intensity of this couple’s love.

The party went by in a whirl. Their guests were all people that loved the couple and I realised that as their photographer I came to love them as well….
