HAZEL & RENE

I met Rene during another wedding that was hosted at Chateau Buskett in Rabat. Rene manages and owns Chateau Buskett which is fast becoming one of the best wedding venues on the island. Situated in the heart of our little woods in Malta, this venue offers diversity for both big and small weddings. During this other wedding I was shooting, Rene casually mentioned that he would be getting married that August and jokingly I told him, well I will do your wedding! Little did I know that indeed I would be his and Holly’s wedding photographer!

Holly is from the UK but she lives and dances (dance is her life!) in Malta. They decorated the place to perfection, and in fact it was a play field for me and my assistant Matthew Balzan. 

Hazel and Rene said I do on a tiny terrace overlooking the rest of the venue. It was quaintly decorated and everyone was holding their breath with anticipation! Reception took place in the lower part of the premises which was decorated just like a luna park fair (minus the wheel!). Hazel and her girls danced, whereas Rene, who injured his leg about a week before, hobbled along during the first dance! Food and drinks were abundant, smiles flowing and the cherry on the cake was….it was a cheese cake! That is a cake make out of cheese, a favourite for those cheese lovers including myself!
