DERRICK & STEPHANIA
Wedding Photography, Weddings / August 1, 2015Both Derrick and Stephania are from Gozo, so my day started with a relaxing journey crossing the channel between the islands of Malta and Gozo. It was also a hot summer day, and later on it resulted to be the hottest day of the year too. However everything about the day was perfect. The sun was shining and I knocked on Derrick’s door in my first set of clothes! The guys were enthusiastic and also pulling Derrick’s leg about getting married. His mum on the other hand fussed over her son like any mother would do. We ended up my visit with whisky…and then I went over to Stephania’s home in my second set of clothes (yes it was a very hot day!).
Stephania’s home was busier than ever, with bridesmaids all over the place however I found Stephania quiet in her parent’s room getting ready. She greeted me softly and I documented her every move because she was giving me so much to work with.
They said I Do, at St George’s Basilica in Rabat, and then we progressed for some shots in the narrow streets of Rabat. Reception was a lovely affair of prosecco hour and sit down meal…At some point the moon made an appearance on the bride too…and after the cake I left the guests dancing the night way.
I quietly made my way back to Malta on the ferry round 2am. The air was somehow lighter and a light fresh breeze picked up…
Weddings made with love…
