LILY & MILOS
Destination Wedding Photographer / June 17, 2018Lily from Greece and Milos from Serbia, had already tied the knot when they contacted me. Their idea was to have a Greek Orthodox Ceremony for their family followed by a lovely meal. When I met Lily and Milos, I was immediately struck by their good looks, but also by their relaxed attitude towards the whole event. However the love they have for one another shined through and made me get more excited than ever for their sweet day.
Mass was held in Valletta at the Greek Orthodox Church in Merchant’s Street. Milos and the entourage where all waiting for Lily who descended from the car and the first thing she did was kiss Milos. This was a sweet intimate affair with her brother leading mass and for me this was all new since I had never witnessed nor photographed a Greek Orthodox marriage. Traditions are very important for these events. Not every culture celebrates in the same way so for me documenting such an event was inspiring.
They had a lovely dinner at Il Cortile Restaurant in San Gwann, where the cake and marquee were decorated to perfection. What I loved the most about this wedding is that all the guests were people the couple knew well, so there was much laughter and hugs all around.
